Your Nursing Recognition in Germany

Nursepass guides internationally trained nurses through the entire recognition process: both adaptation pathways, required specialized medical German, and German nursing clinical practice. Developed by a nurse who walked this exact path.

Between Deficit Notice and License

The notice tells you what is missing. Not how to make up for it.

Your deficit notice specifies the recognized differences between your training and the German nursing curriculum, determining whether you need an assessment test (Kenntnisprüfung) or adaptation course (Anpassungslehrgang). What it does not include: the clinical content, language, and practical knowledge you actually need to fulfill it.

Nursepass bridges this exact gap – focused entirely on your success.

Our Approach

One Process – Fully Covered

We focus exclusively on nursing recognition

Nursepass is not a generic language school. We specialize exclusively in the German nursing recognition process from application to official licensing.

Both pathways, one platform

Whether your authority mandates a knowledge exam or you choose an adaptation course – both are covered. If your pathway changes, your platform stays the same.

Medical language & clinical practice are core exam components

In the knowledge exam you must explain and justify nursing interventions in German. In the adaptation course, daily communication and documentation are assessed. Medical German and nursing practice are therefore core pillars.

Developed from personal experience

The founder is an internationally trained nurse who completed the full German recognition process. The curriculum addresses the exact bottlenecks where candidates struggle most.

Neutral – no recruitment or job placement

Nursepass does not recruit nurses or place jobs. We provide pure educational excellence. Hospitals, nursing schools, and agencies can use the platform without conflict of interest.

For Institutions

For Employers, Nursing Schools & Educational Providers

In Germany, preparation costs are rarely paid by nurses themselves. Employers, recruitment partners, and funding programs sponsor them. Nursepass easily integrates into adaptation courses and hospital onboarding programs – white-labeled on request.

We do not recruit personnel and do not compete with your organization.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Recognition

Both paths lead to full recognition as a nursing professional. The knowledge test is an exam covering the deficits identified in your assessment notice. The adaptation course is a supervised practical assignment followed by a final interview. The options available to you depend on your assessment notice; the choice is usually up to you.

The knowledge test consists of a practical and an oral part, focusing on the subject areas mentioned in your assessment notice. The exact structure, duration, and retake policies are determined by each respective federal state.

These are structured practical tasks that you complete and document during your mandatory assignments. They form the basis for your evaluation and the final interview.

For nursing professions, a general B2 level is typically required, often along with an additional specialized language exam (Fachsprachprüfung). The exact requirements are set by your federal state.

Because both are tested. In the knowledge test, you must explain and justify nursing situations in German; in the adaptation course, your communication and documentation are evaluated during your shift.

In many cases, no. Employers, recruitment agencies, and funding programs regularly cover the costs of preparation. We recommend asking them first.

No. We do not place candidates in jobs and we do not recruit nursing staff. Nursepass exclusively provides educational content.
